About the Organization:
Read to Me Project (RtMP) is a Salinas-based nonprofit organization that provides in-person coaching sessions to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classrooms in schools across Monterey County. To support kindergarten readiness and a lifetime of literacy, we empower upper-elementary-aged brothers and sisters to read to their young siblings at home. In addition, we teach groups of parents why and how to build their children’s language and literacy, starting at the earliest ages. The Read to Me Project vision is: Every child entering kindergarten prepared to succeed.
Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator delivers the established Read to Me Project curriculum to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students through classroom coaching presentations and small group check-in sessions each month.
